FAQ

Germany EV data — frequently asked

Where does the German EV registration data come from?

Direct from the primary German government registration source. We ingest the official monthly publication, parse the model rows, and ship them with full lineage. The specific source detail and methodology document is shared with subscribers under NDA.

How often is the German EV data updated?

Monthly, typically within a few days of the source closing the previous month.

Why does Germany PHEV history start later than BEV?

The underlying source did not cleanly separate plug-in hybrids from non-plug-in hybrids until 2021. We do not synthesize PHEV history from ambiguous source data — we surface what the source actually publishes.

Does EV Atlas cover commercial vehicles in Germany?

Not yet. The current dataset covers passenger cars only. Light commercial vehicle splits are on the roadmap.
